Action Alert

Tell FEMA giving public money to churches is wrong!

Please ask the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to reconsider its recent announcement to allow churches to qualify for federal funds!

FEMA just issued a disastrous directive to provide disaster relief to houses of worship. The move comes in the wake of pressure by President Trump and litigation by churches and synagogues in Texas and Florida.

“The new policy is nothing more than an opportunistic attempt to siphon funds from taxpayers to churches,” charges FFRF Co-President Dan Barker.

FEMA’s action is an affront to the American foundational principle that citizens may not be taxed to attend, erect or support churches.

Please take action to let FEMA know that allowing churches to receive taxpayer dollars is an assault on the religious liberty of American citizens.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Call FEMA’s customer service at 1 (800) 621-3362 or fill out its contact form
  2. Call the White House switchboard at 202-456-1414 or email the president.
  3. Tweet at FEMA’s Director William Brock Long, @FEMA_Brock, or at the handle @fema
  4. Use social media posts or write letters to your local papers to spread the word about this assault on religious freedom.
