ERWIN CHEMERINSKY is the founding dean of the University of California-Irvine School of Law and Raymond Pryke Professor of First Amendment Law, with a joint appointment in political science. He previously taught at Duke Law School, and University of Southern California School of Law. He’s the author of eight books including “The Conservative Assault on the Constitution,” and the just published “The Case Against the Supreme Court.” He holds a law degree from Harvard Law School. This year, National Jurist magazine named him the most influential person in legal education in the United States.
